An original block designed for Eleanor Roosevelt makes up the center of this medallion style quilt. A super opportunity to use multiple patterns in two color families. We'll explore the different ways to piece half-square and quarter-square triangles as well as some tips on connectors to create the borders. A fun and informative class, designed for all skill levels.
Finished quilt is 64" x 64" and is from Voices of the Past II
Refer to the photograph on page 23 of Voices of the Past volume II. I recommend
you do not cut any of the fabrics prior to class as we will discuss options in color,
size, placement, etc.
If you choose to make the same size as listed you will need:
1 3/4 yds of the main print
Assorted chosen color to equal 2 yds ( I used reds)
Assorted backgrounds to equal 1 3/4 yds
All sewing supplies you like to have on hand when you work.
Sewing machine in good working condition
rotary cutting equipment
any half square and quarter square ruler (available in class)
Camera for remembering the other good ones!

Kaye began quilt making and fabric collecting in earnest in the early 1980’s, but was influenced early on by a family of needle workers. She now designs fabrics for Wilmington Prints and heads her own publishing company, Kaye England Publications. Kaye travels the world conducting sell-out lectures and workshops showcasing her wonderful and infectious fabrics, patterns and quilts, as well as her unique and honest outlook on life. Kaye can also be seen on several episodes of HGTV’s Simply Quilts.
Kaye has been described as a colorful individual generating enthusiasm and excitement in her work and having great fun in the process. Despite a hectic teaching schedule, Kaye always finds time to quilt. She has written 13 books and recently produced 3 feature length instructional DVD using her Nifty Notions® “Cut for the Cure™” rulers called More.. Smart Piecing Techniques & Plates-A-Plenty
Kaye was born and raised on a farm in Glasgow, Kentucky. She now resides in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has two children and six grandchildren.
